After graduating from Guelph University (1998) with an honours degree in Genetics and Molecular biology, Debbie spent four years working and travelling the world before returning to Markham Ontario to complete graduate studies in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic medicine (graduating class of 2007).
Debbie is passionate about finding the best medical solutions for her patients. Her goal is to combine her motivational and lifestyle counselling skills to guide and facilitate change, along with the science of naturopathic medicine to restore and maintain optimal health. With two children of her own, Debbie has a special interest in children’s and women’s health, anti-aging medicine, anxiety, depression, weight loss and pain management.
She is a certified hypnotherapist, has travelled to Europe to undertake further training in biological medicine and is trained in Darkfield Microscopy and terrain analysis. She has first hand experience dealing the PANDAS (pediatric Autoimmune Neuro-psychiatric Disorder associated with Streptococcal Infection) and has many children with anxiety and other mental health issues in her practice.
She is an energetic and compelling speaker, often being requested at corporate events and National Conferences. She holds numerous fitness certifications, is certified in IV therapy and facial rejuvenation therapy, and is passionate about changing her patients lives from both the inside and out.
In addition to her private practice, Debbie incorporates healthy lifestyle practices in corporate settings and retreats.
Debbie is also a sports and fitness enthusiast. A past member of the Markham Rugby Football Club and Guelph Varsity Lacrosse, she has turned to the slightly safer pastimes of Ultimate Frisbee, tennis, biking and running and completed her first sprint triathalon in 2010. She has worked in the fitness industry for over 13 years and can still be found at various clubs around Markham pushing her group fitness participants to reach their goals.
She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, sits on the Healthy School Committee, is a lecturer at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, is an active member of Markham Momstown and is a member of the Ontario College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
