New Beginnings
Dr. Edward Chan, Chiropractor
As we move into another season of our lives, and as activities are returning to ‘normal’, let’s press the focus on our health.
Pause. Slow down, take time for yourself. I suggest starting with 1-3 minutes during the day where you can sit comfortably and not be interrupted. Breathe. Start breathing in a normal rate and only focus on your breathing during your pause time. If there are wandering thoughts about TPA reports, do to list, past events or even future events, kindly acknowledge them, and center back to your breathing.
Choose. Decide on your new beginnings health pathway. Reassess and set your health goals; may it be being more active or finding care for that nagging stiffness during working from home. Make the changes now in order to enjoy living the way you desire.
Support the function of your entire body.
Here are 2 starter tips:
- If you sit during the day, every 45-60 minutes, take a 3-5 minute break where you get out of your chair and move. This will may help with your posture.
- If you are not too active, start walking 10 minutes daily, at a steady and safe pace in a safe environment (flat surface, suitable temperature, good walking shoes). Do this for 1 week on a daily basis before increasing your time. This will may help with your activity level.
You are in control of your own destiny. Start today and use this “NEW BEGINNINGS” as a spring board.
